Our Story
HostInfo started in 2013 as a small internal lookup tool built by network engineers. In 2015, after reaching one million users, it was officially launched as a standalone product for internet infrastructure intelligence.
We began by crawling and indexing the public internet — DNS records, WHOIS data, SSL certificates, hosting relationships. By 2019 we had indexed over 10 million domains and launched our public REST API. By 2022 we were tracking 100 million IP addresses across every major ASN and data center on earth.
Today, HostInfo indexes more than 500 million domains, maintains over 100 million IP records, and serves more than 25,000 customers — from individual developers running personal projects to Fortune 500 security teams protecting millions of users.
We're a lean, fully remote team of 15 spread across North America and Europe. We believe in transparency, accuracy, and building tools that developers actually love using.
